Plague Doctor provides damage in addition to bleed/blight curing capabilities. The Occultist provides a spurce pf heaing if needed although his primary purpose for Shambler encounters is as a damage dealer. Bounty hunter should have both Uppercut and Flashbang equipped so that he has the ability to stun regardless of 1st turn position. If using an Abomination, you should generally NOT be transforming him unless you are in dire straights as a last resort (granted this is the best strat for using them in general). The 2nd row character's job is stunning the Shambler and/or clapper claws that you cannot kill in a single action. MAA's job is to attack the Shambler when ther eare no Clapperclaws and use Bellow to slow down the clapperclaws as well as finish them off. So far the best composition I've seen run for Shamblers is (Front to back) Man At Arms, Abomination/Houndmaster/Bounty Hunter (the dedicated stunner), Occultist and a Plague Doctor. Those are the real threats in the fight as they are extremely fast and every attack they get off increases their damage and protection in addition to automatically causing stress. Once the shambler has an unstunned action, proritize the Clapper Claws. The holy water grants increased resistance to the bleed and blight cause by the Shambler's attacks. Use them on your action prior to the Shambler having an action (do not use it immediately on the 1st round if you have a stunner in the party). This allows you to front load some damage on the shambler and/or get the party positioned properly for remaining rounds.Īdditionally ensure you have at least 1 holy water for each party member. First priority is to attempt to stun the Shambler on your first action. Ensure you have at least 1 party member that can stun, preferably with trinkets to improve stun chance.
